How to stop clients finding your design images through reverse-image search

Reverse-image search tools like Google Lens and TinEye match images by their digital fingerprint—metadata, colour data and pixel patterns—not by visual similarity alone. Why your mood boards show up in reverse-image search

When you upload an image to the web—even in a password-protected PDF or shared mood board—reverse-image search engines index it by extracting its digital fingerprint. What image protection does not do

Image protection does not provide legal copyright protection, register your designs or give you a legal remedy against image theft. It is a technical tool that makes reverse-image matching fail. If someone copies your protected image and uploads it elsewhere, or recreates the design from it, image protection alone will not stop them or give you a claim against them. Copyright law and contractual terms are separate.

Image protection also does not prevent someone from taking a screenshot of your mood board, photographing the design on site, or manually copying the composition. It specifically prevents automated reverse-image search from matching the image to its source. If a determined party wants to find the original supplier, they can still do so by other means—but the casual, automated lookup is blocked.
