How to block Google Lens on iPhone and stop reverse-image searches on your mood boards

You cannot disable Google Lens system-wide on iPhone, but you can strip the data that makes your images searchable by Lens and TinEye before sharing them. Why Google Lens matters to your business as a designer or architect

When you send a mood board or specification sheet to a client, they have the ability to screenshot or photograph it and search the image using Google Lens on their iPhone. The search returns the original source—a product page, a supplier’s website, or a competitor’s portfolio. A client who can identify the exact sofa, tile or fabric you’ve specified can contact the supplier directly, bypassing your commission and your expertise. Interior designers, architects and specifiers lose work this way. The risk is highest when sharing digital mood boards, material samples photographed on-site, or specification documents with product imagery.

Google Lens works by reading the unique digital fingerprint of an image—a combination of visual features, embedded metadata, colour values and pixel patterns.
