Why your mood boards need protection beyond a watermark

Interior designers and architects build mood boards to win commissions. A well-curated image set shows taste, precedent and direction. First, it strips all metadata—EXIF, IPTC, XMP, filename hints—so the service has no data layer to work with. Second, it shifts the colour channels. You remain responsible for your own copyright, terms of use, and contractual protections. If a client does find an image elsewhere, your protection comes from clear contracts and registered IP, not from technical barriers alone. Will a protected image still look the same to my client?

Yes. The colour shift, crop and watermark are subtle. The mood, tone, furniture, finish and overall impact of the image remain clear. The client sees the full intent of your design. What changes is invisible to them but fatal to reverse-image matching.

Can I protect images I don't own?

Legally, no. You can only protect images you have the right to use. Protecting a copyrighted image you don't own doesn't give you ownership. Use licensed, stock, or original images in your mood boards. Protection simply prevents accidental discovery of the original source by reverse search.

What file formats does NoScrape work with?

If I protect an image, can I still search for it later?
