ABOUT NOSCRAPE

I built NoScrape while rebuilding an interior designer’s site

I went in to fix the website. The website was not the thing costing her the work.

Weeks of sourcing. One screenshot.

She would spend weeks sourcing. Fabrics, furniture, lighting, fittings. Then build the mood board, present it, and the client would love it and ask for a bit of time to think.

That evening the client screenshots one image, drops it into Google Lens, and has the supplier and the trade price in seconds. Then orders direct. Or hands the whole specification to a cheaper designer and says copy this.

The commission is gone, and there is nobody to complain to. The client only looked at a picture you sent them.

A blog post about it would have helped nobody

I could have put a warning on her blog. That helps nobody. The fix has to happen before the image is sent, not after.

So while I was rebuilding her site, I built NoScrape. It is free to start because it exists to stop that happening, not to sell you something.

Four things have to match. I break all four.

A reverse image search needs four things to tie your picture to a supplier’s original: the hidden data inside the file, the colour profile, the pixel fingerprint and the resolution. Break one and the match fails. I break all four.

It tiles your studio name across the image, crops twelve per cent off each edge and resizes, pushes the red channel up four per cent and the blue down three, and compresses to seventy–two per cent quality. Sharp on a screen. Useless for print.

Your client sees your mood board. The search engine sees a picture it has never come across before.

I never see your images

All of it happens inside your own browser. Your images are never sent to a server, mine or anybody else’s. No cloud storage. No third party.

I could not look at your work if I wanted to, and I built it that way on purpose. A tool that asks you to upload the very thing you are trying to keep private has already lost the argument.

Who I am

Before NoScrape I spent years working with my wife in her business and some real estate ventures I enjoyed running. I have a background in building large scale systems at a mobile network, having held a sub £10m budget which I pushed to rebuild the core messaging platform. This system we built replaced kit supplied by industry giants like Ericsson and Comverse. That is where I learned what a properly designed and well built system does for the bottom line when you grab opportunity before it disappears.

I also built FindingMyBuyers.com, which does the marketing work for small businesses so the owner can get on with the job. NoScrape is a fully automated standalone operation. If you need help with it just reach out to me.

Try it on one picture

Take something you would not want reverse searched, run it through, and look at the result. It costs nothing and the picture never leaves your machine.
